I’m brand new to Pole Dancing, Aerial Acrobatics and/or Aerial Yoga.  Where do I start?

We offer amazing introductory classes in all of our apparatus specific classes at Aradia Fitness. Most classes are offered once a week between our Triangle area locations, providing you convenient options to get into class as soon as you are ready! These classes are a prerequisite prior to attending any higher level classes.

First time pole students should begin with our “Intro to Pole” Teaser class.

First time aerial acrobatic students should begin with our “Intro to Aerial Acro” class.

First time aerial yoga students should begin with our “Intro to Aerial Yoga” class.


I’ve taken classes before at another studio… do I still have to start from the beginning?

Not at all! Our goal is to place you into a level where you will feel comfortable.  We know it is often intimidating to get started at a new studio as class structures, teaching styles and pole technique names vary from studio to studio.

If you have previous experience, it’s not necessary for you to start from the beginning. Simply contact the studio, and we will figure out the best class that suits your ability.


How long are the classes?

Most classes are an hour an length. We do have some 30-minute & 45-minute classes on our schedule as well – you can note this on the class schedule when signing up. All classes are offered on a drop-in basis, which allows you to create the frequency of attendance that best fits into your lifestyle.


What do I wear to class?

Most classes require nothing more than comfortable workout attire – yoga pants and a tshirt or tank top. Higher level pole dance classes will require students to wear shorts to class. For all aerial classes, tshirts that cover the underarms and non-slip leggings are required for participation. For group fitness classes, please note class descriptions for recommended attire or come prepared with removable layers & sneakers. For all classes – please remove rings, bracelets and watches and place your cell phones on silent.


What can I expect from my first class?

At Aradia Fitness, we strive to keep our classes size small to create a comfortable, welcoming environment. Our studio is private, with no more than 2 students per apparatus. Your fellow students will be humans from all walks of life… and don’t worry, they felt a bit nervous the first time they came to class too!


How do I sign up for a class?

The best way to sign up for a class, is to visit our “Schedule” page under “Classes” and click on the class that you would like to sign up for. Pre-payment is required to hold a spot in the class. All class registrations and class payments are accessible through the MindBody Online Registration portal. This allows you to create a user account where you can manage your class schedule.


Do you offer private lessons or classes?

We love working with our clients one-on-one! Private lesson rates vary by instructor based on her experience & qualifications (ranging from $50-$80/hour). If you have a specific instructor you would like to work with, please let us know so we can get you in touch with her. If you have a specific training goal in mind, please email us at dakota@aradiafitness.com and we can recommend the best instructor for you to work with!

What is your missed class policy?

We allow a twelve (12) hour window for class cancellations. You can manage your class cancellations through your MindBody Online user account. Any cancellations made 12-hours or less prior to class start time, or any no show attendances, will count as a “late cancel”. Any missed classes will count as a “no show”. Please review our attendance policies via the “Polices” tab of our website for more information. Thank you in advance for your consideration of other clients, as many of our classes have wait-lists.


Do you have a refund policy?

All sales are final. In the event of extenuating circumstances (such as illness, injury or other emergency), please email us at janine@aradiafitness.com to discuss a possible class extension or missed class forgiveness. These are determined on a case-by-case basis and are not a guarantee.


I haven’t worked out in a long time… will I be able to keep up?

Absolutely! Our student is a lively and welcoming place for persons from all walks of life. Whether you work every day, or if you are starting up after a break, we have a spot ready & waiting for you in class. Our talented team of instructors have years of experience teaching a class filled with a variety of fitness levels. If you have any concerns, we welcome you to speak to your instructor before class regarding modifications or points of concern.

Remember… we all have to start somewhere! When moving, dancing & working out is FUN – you will be amazed at the results you will achieve and how transformative an experience it is – both physically AND emotionally.


How do clients advance or progress through the pole & aerial levels?

Clients quickly discover that pole dancing & aerial acrobatics are not quite as easy as it looks!  Keep in mind – Pole & Aerial are both forms of movement that is unlike any activity you have done before.  After your first class, you may feel sore in new ways or maybe even a little discouraged that you weren’t able to “pick it up” right away. Our instructors will emphasize time & again that there is no “finish line” to rush to… we want to you enjoy the journey, celebrate each small success and create new friends along the way.

At Aradia Fitness, safety is a top priority.  While we appreciate the enthusiasm of clients who want to advance quickly to do “that cool trick” they saw on YouTube, we urge you to keep the age-old saying in mind – “You can’t run before you can walk!” Depending on the time clients are prepared to invest in their fitness journey, we have found it often takes students months (sometimes longer) to feel ready to move to the next level. Our team is with you each step of the way and our goal is to help you go as farther than you imagined you could!


Is there an age requirement to take your classes?

Aradia Fitness classes are designed with adult learners in mind. We do welcome younger students to join us for class at any time. For prospective students ages 13-18, parental permission is required. Please email management at dakota@aradiafitness.com for the proper procedure to enroll minors in class.

For students age 12 or younger, please email management to set up a private lesson or small group class. Discounted rates are available for on-going sessions and for groups of 3 or more.


Do I HAVE to wear those crazy shoes in pole class?

In our beginner level pole classes, you will dance barefoot. After completion of Pole 1, you are welcome to wear high heels to class if you’d like to! Heels definitely increase the workout (not to mention they make your legs looks great AND they’re sexy!) but they are NOT required. If you DO choose to wear shoes, please make sure they are pole dance shoes with an ankle strap or dance boots, free of buckles, rhinestones, or anything that can scratch or damage our equipment. We know you have TONS of fabulous shoes in your closet, but unfortunately those are not acceptable shoes for the studio. If you have any questions as to what acceptable pole shoes are, just ask us – we are happy to help.


Are classes for women only?

If you want to move, groove, find your new fitness routine, have fun or fly through the air… than we want you to join us for class! Aradia Fitness is a judgement-free environment and an LGBQT friendly business. We welcome humans of all variety in class. Our only rule is that everyone who walks through our door remains committed to opening themselves to new experiences, making new connections and doing their small part to nurture our strong sense of community & support.


Do you sell gift certificates?

We sure do! Gift certificates are available in for any class, class package or membership. These are NOT available to purchase via our website – if you would like to purchase a gift certificate, please contact management at dakota@aradiafitness.com


Is there a weight limit for class?

All of our dance poles & aerial apparatuses have been professionally installed by experienced riggers, committing to the utmost safety standards. Unless you wear more than a small car, you have nothing to worry about in class. Our body positive environment will challenge you, motivate you and encourage you to work at your own capabilities each step of the way.
