With the latest updates from our governor, we wanted to take a moment to share our plans for re-opening that follow along with the state’s 3-Phase Plan to Re-Open NC. There are many factors we have to consider and still many unknowns that can alter these plans at any time. We’ll keep rolling with the changes as best we can, keeping the safety of our staff & YOU (our clients) paramount at all times!

On Friday May 8th, the State of North Carolina entered the governor’s Phase I plan. Gyms & fitness facilities are NOT included in this part of the opening process. We will continue to operate as we have been, uploading class videos to Aradia Fitness Online and offering “pay what you can” live-stream classes in our private Facebook forum. Be sure to tune into our social media pages (Facebook & Instagram) for some fun community events & challenges to spice up your movement routine.

Phase I of the state’s re-opening plan is anticipated to last around 3 weeks, Depending on the virus trends & data, it will be late May before the governor assesses whether or not to move the state to Phase II. When Phase II arrives, facilities such as ours have been included in the list of non-essential businesses that will be allowed to resume operations!

Here’s what Phase II will most likely look like for Aradia Fitness Triangle. We anticipate there will be strict rules that we will have to follow in order to comply with the Phase II opening strategies. Some of these rules may include limited class sizes, temperature checks, and social distancing regulations for participants & staff.

Due to the nature of pole & aerial classes, we will NOT be resuming pole or aerial classes in Phase II. For us, your safety is top priority – until we are permitted to return to “hands-on” instruction, we won’t be able to safely spot class participants or work in close proximity to each other. Your Aradia Fitness Triangle team also does not feel it would be responsible of us resume full operations so early on.

We do, however, hope to resume small group fitness classes during Phase II. If we can adhere to the state’s guidelines they set forth, and if we feel we can provide a safe & healthy environment to work out in, Aradia Fitness Triangle has created a plan to open!

During Phase II, we will be creating longer breaks between classes to prevent congregation as well as to allow us to clean the workout rooms after each class. Class sizes will limited and adjusted accordingly due to the room sizes. Both the Cary & Fuquay-Varina classes will offer a variety of group fitness & movement classes that do not require hands-on spotting, shared workout space, or shared equipment. For those that do not feel comfortable returning to a group environment quite that soon, we plan to live-stream many of the classes via Zoom. These will require signing up in advance using class credits or memberships; participants will be sent a class link shortly before class start time. We have also discussed with our staff that they may return to teaching classes during Phase II, or later, depending on their personal comfort level at the time.

We will follow the preventative measures provided by health & government agencies as they are released to us. Staff & clients will be continually reminded NOT to come into the studio if they have been ill, feel ill, or been exposed to someone with COVID-19. Management is installing hand sanitizer stations in the lobby areas and we have already invested in commercial-grade air purifying/disinfecting systems that will be placed in each movement room.

Phase III is still quite a ways away. As we get closer to that time, we will share the strategies & plans we have in mind for transitioning into Phase III… which will likely be the new “normal” for all of us for some time.

At the end of the day, we will need to remain fluid and adapt to news, updates, and changes as they come in (as the saying goes, “the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry”). We are so very grateful for the support, patience, and community spirit all of you continue to give all of us at Aradia Fitness! THANK YOU for being our cheerleaders!
