I’m brand new to Pole Dancing.  Where do I start?

We ask that students who are brand new to Pole Dancing start with our “Teaser: Intro to Pole Dance class”. After completion of your Teaser class, you will then be ready to begin with our Pole 1 class series!

I’ve taken classes before at another studio… do I still have to start from the beginning?

Thank you for choosing Aradia Fitness! With the popularity of pole dance fitness as it continues to grow more mainstream, we understand that many ladies have taken or tried pole dancing before.  We certainly cannot wait to welcome you into the Aradia Fitness family as you continue your pole journey.

Our goal is to place you into a level where you will feel comfortable.  We know it is often intimidating to get started at a new studio as class structures, teaching styles and pole technique names vary from studio to studio.

If you have previous experience, it’s not necessary for you to start from the beginning. Simply contact the studio, and we will figure out the best class that suits your ability.

How long are the classes?

Each class is approximately 60 minutes long. Classes consist of mat floor warm-up and pole work (spins, strength holds and dance moves) to create a total body workout. Classes are offered on a drop-in basis, which allows you to create the frequency of attendance that best fits into your lifestyle.

What do I wear to class?

We wear normal workout clothing- what you feel comfortable to move around in. As you progress to the higher levels, skirts or shorts are encouraged (especially for inverting). We dance barefoot or wear Foot Undeez. Starting at level Pole 2, students are welcome to bring in their heels for dancing in. On the day of class, please refrain from applying hand lotion as this makes the poles slippery for you & your classmates. At the time of class, please remove rings, bracelets and watches and place your cell phones on silent.

I’m feeling a bit shy! What can I expect from my first class?

No worries! Most students feel shy and nervous in their first class, but once they walk through our door and enter our studio- they feel welcomed and encouraged! Our studio is private, with no more than 2 students per pole (max attendance is 16 students).  Our instructors are encouraging, non-judgmental and lots of fun.

How do I sign up for a class?

The best way to sign up for a class, is to visit our “Schedule” page under “Classes” and click on the class that you would like to sign up for. Pre-payment is required to hold a spot in the class. All class registrations and class payments are accessible through the MindBody Online Registration portal. This allows you to create a user account where you can manage your class schedule.

Do you offer private lessons?

We love working with our clients one-on-one! Private lesson rates vary by instructor based on her experience & qualitifcations (ranging from $50-$80/hour). If you have a specific instructor you would like to work with, please let us know so we can get you in touch with her. If you have a specific training goal in mind, please email us at cary@aradiafitness.com and we can recommend the best instructor for you to work with!

What is your missed class policy?

We allow a 12hour window for class cancellations. You can manage your class cancellations through your MindBody Online user account. Any cancellations made 12-hours or less prior to class start time, or any no show attendances, will count as a “late cancel”. In the event of a late cancel, you will lose the class credit or owe an outstanding balance at your next visit. Thank you in advance for your consideration of other clients, as many of our classes have wait-lists.

Do you have a refund policy?

All sales are final. In the event of extenuating circumstances (such as illness, injury or other emergency), please email us at cary@aradiafitness.com to discuss a possible class extension or missed class forgiveness. These are determined on a case-by-case basis and are not a guarantee.

Who attends Aradia Fitness classes?

Aradia Fitness classes appeal to women (and men!) from all walks of life.  Our clients are career women, stay-at-home mothers and students… people of all ages, shapes and fitness levels.  Aradia Fitness clients rage in age from 18-62; however most clients rage in age from late-20s to mid-40s.  Our ladies proudly represent the full spectrum of the female form – we have freckles, curves, wisdom lines and dimples – all of which we unapologetically show off and celebrate! All of our classes are co-ed and our beginner classes appeal most strongly to the feminine-at-heart.

Who teaches Aradia Fitness classes?

Aradia Fitness instructors share a lot with our clients as they were once students themselves!  We are women just like you who loved classes so much that we just had to teach.  Even more, Aradia Fitness instructors complete a rigorous internship & training program before taking both a written & practical exam to obtain an Aradia Fitness Instructor Certification.  Some of our instructors include medical technicians, teachers, stay-at-home mothers, IT Techs and more.

Are the classes overly sexy?

Women today are striving for authenticity.  They are looking to achieve balance in their mind, body & soul.  At Aradia Fitness, we understand that a woman’s sensuality is a beautiful part of who she is and what she brings to this world.

In our studio, we teach clients to unapologetically love their bodies and themselves.  In our beginner pole dance fitness classes, you will learn to shift & sway your hips as you walk.  You will learn how to take the time to transition between stretches by running your hand over your hips & embracing the curves of your body.  On the pole, you will quickly learn to move with confidence & finish off your spins with a gentle & beautiful back arch. Our classes are super comfy, light-hearted and full of laughter!

I haven’t worked out in a long time… will I be able to keep up?

Absolutely!

The great thing about Aradia Fitness classes is that everyone is new to this form of fitness… so everyone learns together.  Our sexy yoga workout in the beginner pole dance fitness classes is designed to gently build the strength & flexibility you will need to advance on the pole.  Our pole dance fitness classes are broken down into seven comprehensive levels.  Everyone starts in Pole 1 and is allowed to progress at their own pace.

Clients who are a bit intimidated by the pole can still bask in the amazing Aradia Fitness environment by participating in our unique line of Sexy Fit workouts.  Our Sexy Fit classes appeal to women on all ends of the fitness spectrum… we offer gentle, yoga-inspired workouts for the beginning fitness student up to high-energy, cardio-blasting classes for the very active client!

How do clients advance or progress through the pole levels?

Clients quickly discover that pole dancing is not quite as easy as it looks!  Pole dance fitness is a form of movement that is unlike any activity you have done before.  After your first class, you will feel how sore your new “pole muscles” are.

At Aradia Fitness, safety is a top priority.  While we appreciate the enthusiasm of clients who want to advance quickly to do “that cool trick” she saw on YouTube, we urge you to keep the age-old saying in mind – “You can’t run before you can walk!” Depending on the time clients are prepared to invest in their pole fitness journey, we have found it takes ladies anywhere from 8-16 classes before they can safely & properly perform the techniques, tricks & spins of each level.  The last thing we want is for a client to injure herself attempting a technique that her body is not yet ready for.

Is there an age requirement to take your classes?

Due to the inherent sensual nature of most Aradia Fitness classes, all clients must be eighteen years of age or older to attend classes at our studio.  We CAN offer a “toned down” version of our pole fitness classes for younger groups, however this would need to be scheduled as a private lesson and parental waivers will be required.

Do I have to wear those crazy shoes?

In our beginner level classes, you will dance barefoot. After completion of Pole 1, you are welcome to wear high heels to class if you’d like to! Heels definitely increase the workout (not to mention they make your legs looks great AND they’re sexy!) but they are NOT required. If you DO choose to wear shoes, please make sure they are pole dance shoes with an ankle strap or dance boots, free of buckles, rhinestones, or anything that can scratch or damage our equipment. We know you have TONS of fabulous shoes in your closet, but unfortunately those are not acceptable shoes for the studio. If you have any questions as to what acceptable pole shoes are, just ask us – we are happy to help.

Is there any nudity?

Nope – no nudity!  Some classes may teach striptease techniques but your “girl parts” will be covered at all times.

Are men allowed in class?

Our standard pole dance curriculum is currently for women only…. however we do offer specific Co-Ed classes each week! Our Co-Ed classes are more fitness & trick focused. Beginner male students should begin with our Sunday open Co-Ed Pole Fit class. Male students who progress may receive instructor approval to attend our Co-Ed Pole Masters class, offered on select Thursday evenings.

Do you sell gift certificates?

We sure do! Our gift certificates are the perfect gift and they are available in any denomination. If you would like to purchase a gift certificate, please contact us at cary@aradiafitness.com

Is there a weight limit for class?

Our dance poles are bolted to the floor and ceiling… for beginner level pole classes & aerial acrobatic classes, there is no weight limit! For students who advance, the weight limit for classes beyond basic pole classes is approximately 250 lbs, according to the pole manufacturors. different manufactures of the pole. There is NO weight limit for our other Sexy Fit classes – offering a variety of fun workouts from bootcamps to cardio dance calsses to stretching classes and more!
